Belkin N1 Storage Router - slow transfer rates

Note to self: One of the main reasons I bought the Belkin Storage Router was to take advantage of the NAS like features.

Seemed like a really nice solution without a bigger investment.

As a wireless and wired router it works a treat.

However as an attached storage device (via the StorageManager application) the slow transfer speeds to the connected drive (~2mb/s) make it unusable as a NAS alternative. What a shame...

one word for it man, VISTA.... it took me a greater part of 6 months to "optimally" connect the intel 5100 to the Belkin N1 at close to N speeds (albeit fluctuating)...and my wife's netbook running WINXP home....on a 54G WLAN card having no slow downs as such.... PS be grateful you can achieve 2mb +/- ....
